Its diversity distinguishes the "Swiss Archives of Neurology, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy" from similar scientific journals. The journal covers psychiatry, psychotherapy, and neurosciences - the full breadth of a pluralistic specialist area.
"Swiss Archives of Neurology, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy" is an internationally peer-reviewed journal. It fosters dialog between all institutions and professionals involved in psychiatry and psychotherapy, as well as in neurosciences, throughout Switzerland.
The journal continues the "Swiss Archives of Neurology and Psychiatry" rich in tradition and reputation, founded in 1917 by the famous neurologist and psychiatrist C. von Monakow. This journal was a platform for uncensored publishing during the Second World War and has a long tradition of outstanding scientists, also a Nobel Prize winner, publishing in it. In the early years the journal was edited by Professor Dr. C. von Monakow, Professor Dr. P. Dubois, Professor Dr. R. Weber, Dr. B. Manzoni and Professor Dr. H. W. Maier, in collaboration with the leading academic authorities of the time in the fields of psychiatry and neurology, including Prof. E. Bleuler. From the beginning the "Swiss Archives of Neurology and Psychiatry" served as the organ for scientific exchange in Switzerland and was thus an important channel of communication for psychiatrists and neurologists.
